To create a truly grand entrance to your home, have you considered a Pivot Door which can be made to bespoke dimensions up to 2 metres wide with just one door.

Historically, to create a doorway at 2 metres wide, either a set of double doors would be needed, or a wide front door with two glazed side panels. A Pivot Door gives you the opportunity to make a real statement and create that Wow factor. There are so many attractive finishes available in our Spitfire Pivot Door range, including aluminium in a range of RAL colours, a selection of timber finishes, ceramic or glass  finishes in varying colours, carbon-fibre effect, corten rust-effect and metallic finishes.

Whilst Pivot doors are heavier than traditional front doors, rather than be attached to the outer frame by sets of hinges, they operate by way of a pin at the top and bottom of the door itself. The pivot takes the weight of the door, so that when opening and closing your door, they feel quite light, considering the size.  The pin is positioned at around 120mm to 400mm away from the edge of the door, depending on the overall size of the door. This does create a gap between the door and the frame, which is not present with traditional front doors, so if you have pets or small children, please consider whether this door is suitable for your family and home.

The range of Pivot Doors supplied and installed by Bloors across Cheshire and Derbyshire are sleek and contemporary. The Spitfire door pictured above is a glass Pivot front door with black glass with 4 x CNC horizontal grooves, bonded to a 3mm aluminium sheet, with discreet LED lighting within the recessed handle externally. Internally, the door finish is a beautiful textured black powder coated finish. This is just one of the designs available.
