Origin OB-72 Bifold Doors

Origin Bifolding Doors are perfect for homeowners who like to make the most of the view from their home into the garden or onto their patio, with a contemporary set of glass doors which can be opened fully on warm days to allow ease of access between the home and garden.

With external Bifold Doors, you can choose to have one traffic door which can be opened independently of the other sashes, so you can use this door all year round without having to open your Bifold Door completely.

Depending on the size of your aperture and the number of sashes you choose, you can decide whether the doors will all slide in one direction when open, or whether you would prefer a number of sashes to slide to the left and right.

Every set of Origin Bifold Doors we install throughout Cheshire and Derbyshire is made to bespoke dimensions to perfectly suit your individual project, allowing you to make the most of the transition between your home and garden.

Many homeowners who are replacing their external double doors or French doors choose a set of two pane Bifolding Doors instead, which can be made up to 2.4 metres wide. When the two pane Bifold Doors are open, the doors open in one direction, creating a wide opening space to walk through. If you are considering this option, please be aware that two pane Bifolding Doors cannot be opened from the outside, as the handles will be positioned on the inside only.

A special safety feature system is fitted to Origin Bifolding Doors as standard to prevent fingers from being trapped between doors, a perfect solution for families with young children. We are aware that all members of the family will be making the most of the freedom of walking through your bifolding doors to gain access between the home and garden, so our Origin Bifolding Doors have a special safety feature system with finger safe seals.

Bifolding Door Colours

We find that our most popular colours for Aluminium Bifold Doors are Light Grey, Agate Grey, Slate Grey, Anthracite Grey, Black and White.

We also offer a wide range of RAL colours and Natural Oak or Golden Oak Wood Effect finishes with dual colour options available too, so you can choose one colour inside with a different colour outside to complement the décor of your home.

Hinges are available in Black, White or Stainless Steel as standard, although we can also colour match the hinges on your Aluminium Bifolding Door, to match the colour of your doors, if preferred.

Bifolding Door Security and Handles

Origin Bifold Doors are fitted with a multi-point locking system, which includes a shoot bolt which goes into the top and bottom track, resulting in a total of 8-points of locking. This ensures the doors meet both PAS 24 security and the Police Backed Secured by Design status, to help keep you safe in your home.

We understand that choosing the right coloured door handle for your Aluminium Bifolding Door is a personal preference and as standard, we offer a lever handle in a choice of White, Chrome or Black.

Within our Deluxe range of Bifold door handles, we also offer a Black or Anthracite Grey Soft Touch lever handle or a Rose Gold lever handle, all with a separate escutcheon. The Deluxe range has a protective finish with matt effect and a soft, velvet-like texture, making it a pleasure to open and close your doors.

Thermal Efficiency

When it comes to keeping your home warm, the Origin Bifold Door achieves a U Value of 1.4 W/m²K as standard and with specialist glass, can meet a U Value of 1.1 W/m²K to meet the strictest of building regulations.

All doors are fitted with a standard weathered door threshold which is 67mm high. We do offer a 50mm threshold, but please be aware that this is non-weathered, so is only suitable if your home is in a sheltered spot.

Optional Features – Trickle Vents and Glazing Bars

Trickle Vents are now required in doors and windows to new build homes or new extensions, unless there is a suitable alternative method of ventilation meeting the current Building Regulations. Our Aluminium Bifolding Doors can be fitted with discreet trickle vents at the top of the track, to meet the minimum air flow rates as defined by the British Building Regulations. Please let us know at the point of ordering if you would like to include Trickle Vents within your design.

To create a more traditional style of Bifolding Door, our Origin Bifold Doors can be installed with aluminium glazing bars in the same aluminium finish as the doors themselves. The bars will be placed on the glass after installation.
