Korniche Roof Lanterns are the perfect solution for a flat roof extension or refurbishment, as they  allow natural daylight to flood into a room from various angles. From the inside of your home, the Lantern Roof will often provide a focal point, with many homeowners telling us that they regularly sit beneath the glazing and look up at the every-changing skyline.

Being made from Aluminium, they are structurally sound and incredibly strong. Korniche Roof Lanterns have been designed with fewer rafters than many other Lantern Roofs, with seamless lines and a slim profile to create elegant, sleek framing. There are different design options depending on the size of the Lantern Roof you are looking for.

What colour are Korniche Roof Lanterns?

The Aluminium profile is powder coated so that it is completely weatherproof to keep you dry inside your home and can be made in a wide range of bespoke RAL colours to suit your décor. Our standard colours are Grey or Black in a matt finish or White in a gloss finish. You have the choice of the same colour inside and out, or choose a dual colour option, where your Lantern Roof will have one colour on the inside with a different colour on the outside. The choice of colour for your home in Cheshire or Derbyshire is almost endless.

To ensure that your room will remain at a comfortable temperature to use all year round, the aluminium profile has been designed to eliminate cold bridging by isolating the external profiles from the internal ones using polyamide thermal break.  At Bloors, we fit a self-cleaning 24mm double glazed unit as standard, which has been certified to EN 1096-5 standards, this is the new European Standard for self-cleaning glass.  This glass achieves a U-value of 1.2 W/m²K.  If preferred, you can choose a different glazing specification, such as glass with solar reflection, or with light transmission, or a blue, aqua or bronze tint. We can also fit laminated glass in your Korniche Roof Lantern.

What size are Korniche Roof Lanterns?

Korniche Roof Lanterns can be made either as a rectangle or as a pyramid.  Roof Lanterns can be made with just four panes of glass, for a more contemporary aesthetic.  The maximum sizes for a four pane Lantern Roof is 3 metres by 2.5 metres (Rectangular) or 2.5 metres by 2.5 metres (Pyramid).

By including additional aluminium rafters and additional panes of glass, larger Roof Lanterns can be made up to 6 metres by 4 metres (Rectangular) or 4 metres by 4 metres (Pyramid). All sizes are measured externally.  The drawings below show the various bespoke designs available.
